The engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the muffler hangers for the '63 big Fords. What they came up with provided the correct vibration and noise insulation, and kept the muffler stationary in all types of driving conditions. Unfortunately universal hangers are what a lot of people have had to use, and they don't match up to the original function.
